I’ve always been fascinated by the story of La Llorona. The legend says that a woman was abandoned by her husband to raise their two children on her own, whom she drowned in a blind rage. She realised what she’d done and searched for them but the river had already carried them away. A few days later she was found dead on the river side after she’d committed suicide. It’s said that she was challenged at the gates of heaven about her children’s whereabouts and she wasn’t allowed to enter the afterlife until she found them. So she spends eternity searching for her children. She’s heard weeping for her children, earning her the name La Lllorona, the Weeping Woman. She kidnaps wandering children at night and drowns them, mistaking them for her own. Parents used the story of La Llorona to scare their children from staying out too late.
This is one of the easiest looks I’ve done so far. I started with painting my whole face and neck with white Snazaroo face paint. For my brows I used a grey eyeshadow to fill them in. For my eyes I used a black cream eyeshadow and just messily spread it around my eyes. I used grey eyeshadow to contour my head a little bit. I also used black face paint to create the drips down my face and to paint on my lips. I smudged the lips out with a sponge. On my eyes and lips I used the Nyx lipgloss to make them look wet.
And finally for my mouth I actually used the Oetker black food colouring gel to colour my teeth, mouth and to drip it down my chin! It worked great!
I hope you like this super easy look! Don’t forget to check out yesterday’s look – Heartless (6/31)
